Living Room Makeover in Milton Keynes
We, at Lesley Ann Interiors have recently completed an Interior Design Living Room Makeover for a client in MK10. Here is the before and after makeover of the living room. The clients are a young professional couple in their 40s with two young children. The brief was to re-design and makeover their living area. To find large colourful curtains, add a high pile rug, and make the room a place to relax, to watch films, whilst keeping the room light and airy.

The space is a multi function room, and needed to house both the existing home office desk, as well as a large dining table.
With a huge 5ft wide window brought light into the space, but no privacy during the evening, so we looked to install curtains. This, however will take up most of the clients budget, so with this in mind, we needed to choose wisely. We sourced a warm, rich, textured velvet fabric by Clarke and Clarke, in a warming Terracotta and Olive. We doubled its fullness to give a luxe look, although knowing this would increase the weight of fabric. So we also changed the pole to we installed an extra long Neo premium black nickle curtain pole. Adding stunning finials on the ends finished the look. The pole now runs the full length of the wall, giving allowance to do a stack back to the sides of the windows. This gives not only the illusion of a wider room, but allows in plenty of light.

By adding coving around the ceiling of the room, gave it character and a cosier feel. We hung a stunning textuxed wallpaper on the wall, which sits behind the TV. It is a beautiful gold/taupe shimmering wallpaper by Albany Italia, which gives the room depth, warmth and a touch of glamour. The remaining walls were all painted in a soft tan colour> We hung a large glossy marble effect canvas on the wall behind the dining table, to help reflect light back into the room.

We the added a selection of soft textured cushions, in warm terracotta with green stripes to work with the cushions and additional terracotta cushions to balance out the look.
Gold/taupe cushions, to work with the feature wall, were then placed on the existing brown leather sofas. We sourced some Stylish hotel lamps, and gathered up the family photos, and pictures that were dotted around the room, and hung them in gallery style by the the work station area (not shown). A large terracotta glass fruit bowl from Next was placed in the centre of the existing dining table. A large sumptuous area rug which matches the green stripes in the curtains, and cushions was placed in the lounge area.
We then redressed the room with the clients side tables, and their favourite items.
